Groqit Owner's Manual
Overview
Your Groqit is the heart of a patented Personal Inventory Management System.
In this manual you will learn how to use your Groqit to scan barcodes,
store, organize, and look up what you have inventoried.
Your Groqit can help you keep track of the movies, music, games and books
you have – nearly anything with a UPC/EAN barcode, even
if you have many thousands of them. The Groqit can remember over
a million barcodes.
Since it fits in your pocket, you can take your inventory lists with you
when you go shopping.
This device can help you avoid buying duplicate books, CDs, DVDs. Used
with the translations and other features available on the Groqit website,
it can be even more helpful.

Important Notes
Cautions:
While durable, your Groqit is a sophisticated device and should
be treated with care. It should not be dropped or subjected
to moisture. Treat it as you would a good camera. Use the provided
wrist strap. Opening your Groqit will void your warranty, so
don’t
do it.
DO NOT FORMAT YOUR GROQIT! Although your Groqit uses an industry standard
file system, formatting the flash device may cause it to fail.
Before removing your Groqit from your computer, Stop
and/or unmount, and “eject” it as you would any other removable media. In Windows,
use the “Unplug or Eject Tool.” Mac users go to Finder and click
the “Eject” button next to the Groqit’s name in your
list of drives.
About the Barcode reader:
The Groqit’s conical tip houses the barcode reader. The contact
reader has a short focal length for greater optical power. The read head
must physically contact the barcode. It will not read through jewel cases.
Also, pressing hard distorts the barcode and makes reading more difficult.
About the USB port:
Removing the tail end of your Groqit uncovers the USB port for
connection to your computer. (It is not necessary to use a computer with
your Groqit.)
Battery:
The Groqit uses one AAA battery (included). Insert the battery into the
case by releasing the thumb-catch on the underside, and place the battery
with its flat end to the spring in the compartment. Removal or running down
of the battery will not cause your Groqit to lose data.
