The fun, friendly way to share lists for gift-giving.
Inviting your friends and family to be your "Groqit Buddies" is safe and
private - you share only with the people you invite, and can choose which
of your lists to share with each of your Buddies.
Just sign up -- the free User Registration page is here --
and we'll email an invitation to the people you tell us to. Only
those people will ever see your lists; all your information is kept secure,
and we don't share it with anyone else.
Once you sign up, you can go to the Member Area and make
some lists.
The Groqit site will help you make your lists!
You can enter a Book's Title and Author, and the site can fill in more
information from our data. You might enter just a barcode, and the
site fills in the rest of the information for you. You just confirm
that it's correct and you've got all the information on that item in your
list.
Whenever you need to update your lists (like you got a new game, so it
comes off your "Want" list and goes on your "Games I Have" list) you update
your information at the Groqit website, and any of your Groqit Buddies will
see your updated list, when they check.
What kinds of lists to make?
You might want to swap just Wish Lists, so people know what you want. But
how about lists of things you don't want? Your "Please don't get
me this stuff" list might include sox, ties, potholders, sweaters, bathsalts
and fruitcake.
You might make a list of all the videogames you already have, so your relatives
can get you another game they know you don't have, instead of the sweater
they were going to get you instead!
Or if you have a lot of classic movies, your friends know you like movies
but are scared to get you another one. Put up a list of the movies
you have. This gets you a gift you want and saves you from one of
those dreaded "safe" gifts, like the fruit basket you don't want.
If you have a lot of people to get gifts for, just invite them to be Groqit
Buddies with you. You can get them the books, movies, music and games
they actually want, by looking at their lists.
