Introduction to the Member Playground
When you log in, you will be on the My Groqit page. Below the main navigation
bar, you will see additional navigation buttons which are used
to navigate the Playground:
MyGroqit, Inventory, Buddies, Account, and Logout .
MyGroqit - This is the main page for the functions the
website offers for looking up barcodes and for organizing and
sharing your information. It shows your Categories, your Buddies,
and your Registry lists.
Inventory - This page shows you in greater detail what
you have in your Personal Inventory. You can see everything on your
Groqit, or choose to just view a particular category. This is where
you go to add new items manually (things without readable barcodes) and
edit, or remove individual items. Clicking the "Add Item" link allows you
to enter a barcode and search our data bases for a translation, or enter
other information (Author & Title, for instance) and add the item
to your inventory that way.
Buddies - Groqit Buddies are the people you choose to
share lists with. Each person must own a Groqit, and both have to agree
to be Groqit Buddies (confirmed via email). You can choose which
of your lists to share with each of your Groqit Buddies. You
make these lists in the Registry.
Registry - This page lets you create lists to share with
your Groqit Buddies, and shows you what you are sharing with your Groqit
Buddies, and what they are sharing with you. The lists you create can be
identical to any of the Categories you have, or can be customized. For
instance, you can combine two of your Categories into one List. You
can choose to share different lists with different Groqit Buddies. You
can edit and custom-tailor your lists.
Account - This page shows your account status and allows
you to update or change your account and information. (No one can
see this page but you; it is secure.)
Logout - When you have finished a session on the Groqit
site, it is a good idea to "Logout" by clicking on the Logout button. This
is for your security and privacy, and is good computer hygeine.
The three major areas on the "My Groqit" page are Categories, Buddies
and Registry.
1 The Categories area will be empty until
you perform your first Sync using the Groqit
Desktop Application (GDA).

2 Your Buddies (AKA Groqit Buddies, GB) are other Groqit
owners that you choose to share your lists with. Each person
must own a Groqit, and both have to agree to be Groqit Buddies
(confirmed via email). You
can choose which of your lists to share with each of your Groqit
Buddies. You make these lists in the Registry.
3 The Registry lets you create lists to share
with your Groqit Buddies, and shows you what you are sharing with
your Groqit Buddies and what they are sharing with you. The lists you create
can be identical to any of the Categories you have, or can be customized. For
instance, you can combine two of your Categories into one List. You
can choose to share different lists with different Groqit Buddies. You
